This urge to explore and to share the innumerable treasures that India has to offer led to the creation of Doorways Travel, where we now have the opportunity to open doorways - to a new country, to an exotic culture, to a novel experience for people from all over the world. Over time, being passionate travelers ourselves, we have discovered that travel is the best path to personal growth and with this endeavor, we hope to help people along on their personal journeys, simultaneously promoting inter-cultural understanding.

Aparna Phalnikar was born in Pune, India and has been traveling for as long as she can remember. A sportsperson, she was bitten by the travel bug at a young age, as she went to every corner of India for sporting events. With a background in languages – she studied and taught English and German – she’s rarely at a loss for words!
Aparna started her travel career as a tour-guide in Oman in the Middle East for a few years. After helping to set up the India operations for a luxury travel start-up, she then freelanced as a tour-guide and tour-manager for various top-notch travel companies in India. 15 years of extensive travel-industry experience in the Indian subcontinent gave her an in-depth understanding of all aspects of the travel business and she carved a niche for herself in the luxury travel domain.
Her guests value the boundless energy, sense of humor and passion that Aparna brings to her job. Now based in Boston, USA, she is busy creating innovative itineraries, meticulously organizing trips and exploring exciting new possibilities for travelers to the Indian subcontinent.
Sahaj Sharma is based in New Delhi and looks after travel operations on the ground, apart from leading some of the tours himself.
Sahaj, who has studied Psychology and History and also speaks fluent German, has traveled extensively with guests from all over the world in the Indian subcontinent for over 15 years. An avid traveler and adventurer, whether on motorbike or on camelback, he has explored the length and breadth of the region. His charming personality ensures that he has friends and contacts everywhere - a vital advantage in a people's industry.
Over the years, Sahaj has accompanied many prominent personalities from the world of politics, sports, films and business through India, giving him a great insight into the demands and seamless operations of luxury travel. Guests, who interact with him, not only learn a whole lot about India but also enjoy his easy-going, spontaneous personality (just like his name!) and are entertained by his stories, touched by his innate spirituality and love his wonderful sense of humor.
